This indicator measures the ability of government entities to manage and provide high-quality data in line with global standards and practices. It aims to evaluate and monitor the performance of government entities in meeting governmental requirements under the UAE Vision “We the UAE 2031,” global competitiveness indicators, and the provision of data needed by decision-makers for planning and policy development. This is based on the standards of the regulatory and operational framework for data management, enhancing data quality, and ensuring data flow and availability.
The Data Index aims to strengthen the capacity of federal government entities to manage, govern, and provide high-quality, timely, and reliable data in line with international standards and best practices. It evaluates and monitors institutional performance in meeting the requirements of the UAE Vision “We the UAE 2031,” supporting global competitiveness indicators, and ensuring the availability and seamless flow of data needed for informed decision-making, strategic planning, and evidence-based policy development.
The index is divided into 3 main dimensions that represent the main pillars of data management in the Federal Entities. The weightage has been defined in accordance to the importance of each dimension as follows:
