The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) publishes The Human Development Index annually, through the Human Development Report Office (HDRO). The report measures the human development across three dimensions: a long and healthy life, being knowledgeable and having a decent standard of living. This year’s report introduced the link between the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by the UN and HDI indicators to measure the human progress in specific areas.
The report ranks 193 countries using four statistical indicators:
- Life Expectancy at birth
- Mean Years of Schooling
- Expected Years of Schooling
- GNI Per Capita ($PPP)
