National Statistics System
DATA FOR A BETTER FUTURE

The UAE is a federal nation consisting of seven emirates. It has a well-established statistical system responsible for gathering, analyzing, and sharing data related to economic, social and agriculture indicators. The Federal Competitiveness and Statistics Centre (FCSC) serves as the national statistics office. FCSC is also responsible for creating and maintaining a national statistical system that is unified, comprehensive, accurate, and up-to-date, with standardized definitions, methodologies, and statistical classifications, in coordination with the National Statistics Committee. Additionally, FCSC supports mechanisms for integration among federal data-producing entities through the implementation of the “Data Index” platform.
A committee affiliated with the Cabinet, responsible for coordinating national efforts and enhancing integration and cooperation in the field of statistical work between FCSC and the local statistical centres or executive councils, with the aim of strengthening local coordination for the production of unified statistical data and the implementation of statistical studies and surveys in line with local and international requirements
The UAE Government launched the “Data Index” within the Data and Digital Government pillar of the “ADAA” system, with the aim of supporting and enhancing transparency and efficiency mechanisms in the federal government entities. This will be achieved through high-quality, up-to-date statistical data within a regulatory framework aligned with international statistical metho- dologies, utilizing it to support decision -making processes at all levels
Launched by His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President, Deputy Prime Minister and Chairman of the Presidential Court, aiming to leverage data and statistics to enhance decision-making and expand international influence through collaboration with both federal and local governments. The project aligns with the “We the UAE 2031” vision, which outlines the UAE’s long-term goals for sustainable development, global competitiveness, and national well-being.
